This semester I researched the reasons why the drinking age was 21 in the United States. I came across many credible sources that told of harmful effects on the body that alcohol has. I read about steatosis, alcoholic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and all of the other horrific liver diseases, but they all told the same thing. No matter what, alcohol still has the same effect on a 17 year old than on a 22 year old. There is no difference between dropping the drinking age to 18 or 21.
